Service runs quarterly, and product breaks down under sun and rain, which is why a lapsed barrier stops working long before the year is out.
Why the perimeter is the right place to treat
Insects do not appear in a house. They cross the yard, reach the foundation, follow it looking for a gap and come in at a utility line, a door sweep or a gap in the siding. Every one of those trips crosses the same three foot band of ground, which makes it the highest value strip on the whole property.

How the quarterly program runs

Spring
Ants wake up and start trailing, wasps begin building. The first barrier of the year goes down before the population establishes.
Early summer
Peak activity. Spiders web up under eaves, ants push hard against the foundation and wasp nests need knocking down.
Late summer
Populations are at their largest and starting to look for shelter. This visit does the most to prevent fall entry.
Fall
Boxelder bugs, stink bugs and cluster flies mass on warm siding to overwinter. Treatment here stops the group that shows up inside in January.
Between visits
Something comes back, we come back. Re service is part of the program, not a separate charge.

We flag door sweeps, torn screens and unsealed penetrations so you can close the openings we cannot treat away.
Why a barrier has to be maintained
Product on an exterior surface breaks down. Sunlight degrades it, rain moves it and new growth covers it. A band applied in April is doing very little by August, which is why a single visit reads as a great result for six weeks and a failure by fall.
Quarterly service keeps an active surface in place through the pressure periods. Skipping the fall visit is the most common mistake we see, because that is the round that prevents the overwintering insects people find inside months later.
