Short answer
EKKO Lawns treats the resting areas where mosquitoes spend their day: shrub undersides, tree lines, fence rows, deck skirting and anywhere water collects. Applications run every three to four weeks from spring through early fall. Most customers see a sharp drop in bites within 24 to 48 hours of the first visit.
Why the yard stays unusable after 6pm
A mosquito flies a short range and stays close to where it hatched. If your yard has shade, moisture and cover, the population lives on your property instead of drifting in from somewhere else. That works in your favor, because treating those specific areas removes most of the problem without touching the whole lawn.

How barrier treatment works
One visit clears the yard. A schedule keeps it clear, because new mosquitoes hatch every ten to fourteen days.
Yard walk
We find the breeding and resting spots first: gutters holding water, low areas, plant saucers, tarps, bird baths and shaded cover.
Source removal
We flag standing water you can drain and treat what stays, since removing the water beats treating the adults every time.
Barrier application
Product goes on the underside of foliage and structural cover where mosquitoes rest through the daylight hours.
Larvicide where needed
Water that cannot be drained, like a low ditch or a catch basin, gets treated so larvae never reach adult stage.
Return every three to four weeks
The barrier breaks down over time and new adults emerge. The route keeps a treated surface in place through the season.
Event treatments
Graduation, wedding or party coming up, we treat 24 to 48 hours ahead for a one time visit.
What barrier service will and will not do
Mosquito control cuts the population living on your property. It does not build a wall, so a few will still drift in from a neighboring yard or a creek behind the fence. Customers on a season route report a drop most describe as the difference between staying inside and using the yard again.
Coverage holds better when the whole block is not breeding mosquitoes. If your neighbor has an untreated pond or a stack of tires, tell us and we will plan the treatment line around it.

Most yards see a large drop within 24 to 48 hours. The application needs time to dry and take effect on the resting surfaces.
